IT support volunteer

We are looking for someone who is experienced or studying IT to support the coalition with its IT needs.

This role requires the following

  • Help maintain and update the SCODP website to keep all information and events current.
  • Update social media, for example; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Assisting the Trustee Directors to keep the charity’s IT maintained.
  • Providing technical support for the charity’s hardware and software.
  • Developing, creating and maintaining the charity’s databases, spread sheets and administrative systems in line with internal procedures.
  • Assist the Trustee Directors with maintaining the charity’s computer file structure and case management systems.
  • Recommending and developing new file structures as necessary
  • Continue to develop the charity’s online presence.

General

  • Working within SCODP policies and procedures at all times
  • Empowering all service users, guided by the Independent Living Philosophy and the Social Model of Disability.
  • Undertake all duties as required being mindful of the Independent Living Philosophy and the Social Model of Disability.
  • Working closely with colleagues and Trustee Directors to ensure the services provided by SCODP are of the highest possible standards.
  • Participating in supervision, team briefings and other meetings as required.
  • Participating in open days, conferences and other events as required.
  • Providing cover for colleagues and undertaking other appropriate duties as required

Volunteer arrangements

We recognise that volunteers have other commitments so the only thing we ask is that you commit to hours which are realistic and that you are reliable, a flexible approach is also helpful. Volunteers are required to adhere to the organisation’s policies and practice guidelines. Any reasonable travel expenses such as mileage (paid at .40 p per mile) and parking costs incurred whilst participating in activities on behalf of SCODP will be reimbursed. Applications must provide two satisfactory references. All applicants must complete and pass Disclosure and Barring Service check (formerly CRB).
